‘Tis the season for Christmas Celebration at SeaWorld Orlando, the annual holiday event featuring lights, shows, meet & greets and so much more to get everyone in the spirit. Christmas Celebration is included in any pass or day admission to SeaWorld.
Winter Wonderland on Ice is one of the several special shows at Christmas Celebration, featuring skating on a real ice surface choreographed to holiday music. The high energy show runs on select nights during Christmas Celebration, mostly Fridays through Sundays until Christmas week when it runs nightly through the end of the event. Be sure to check the park’s calendar which includes a daily entertainment schedule for the latest information.
Winter Wonderland on Ice is performed at Bayside Stadium, which is located outdoors on the main lagoon at SeaWorld. Every other row is blocked off, and guests are encouraged to leave open seats between parties in their rows to maintain social distancing. A majority of the seating is first-come, first-served but there is also a section of reserved seating that can be purchased as an upgrade.
The stage is set on the edge of the lagoon, with good views from nearly every spot in the theater. The Sea of Trees provides a beautiful backdrop for the show, and even plays part in the performance. The 70-foot centerpiece tree towers over the lagoon in the background as well.
Even before the show, entertainment comes in the form of a violinist who plays several holiday songs to get guests in the Christmas spirit.
The skating takes center stage after, with a cast of talented performers gliding across the ice to a number of different holiday songs.
Along with the skating on the stage, the lights on the trees in the lagoon seem to dance, too. Water fountains and firework effects also add to the performance.
The skating is amazing, as is the array of costumes worn and quickly changed throughout the performance.
It’s fun to listen to the crowd ooh and ahh when the skaters jump…
… spin….
… and perform moves that leave most of us holding our breath!
New this season, guests can skate on the ice during the day for an additional charge. For $15, guests can spend 30 minutes on the ice and the price includes skate rental. Socks and gloves must be worn and can be purchased at the park if needed. For full details and to make your reservations, visit the park’s site.
Winter Wonderland on Ice is just one of a number of special holiday-themed offerings at SeaWorld Orlando’s Christmas Celebration. Along with the lights around the park, other shows include Sea Lion High Christmas Special, It’s a Wonderful Night, and the Sea of Trees. Guests can also enjoy a physically distant meet & greet with Santa Claus, Rudolph & Friends, and other performers around the park. There are also over a dozen special culinary booths set up around the park offering sweet & savory treats. Be sure to check out the special flavors of hot chocolate, too! Look for a variety of gifts, apparel, and holiday decor at shops & stands throughout the park to bring a little bit of the celebration home with you.
