This past weekend the Florida Aquarium made the difficult decision of temporarily closing to the public in support of community efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). During the closure, the Aquarium is launching its first-ever SEA-SPAN Facebook Live to keep kids learning and adults entertained during these difficult times.
Guests can visit the aquarium and be entertained and educated from the comfort of their own living room.
“We’re bringing the Aquarium to folks who are stuck at home,” said Debbi Stone, Vice President of Learning at The Florida Aquarium. “The Aquarium is still a resource to our community even while our building is closed. That’s why we are trying to fill a void with our daily Facebook Live. Our goal is to provide fun and educational content to families who are stuck at home.”
The daily SEA-SPAN live sessions will start today (March 17) at 10:00 a.m. EST. The first one will feature our world famous Lemurs, Lulu, Remy, Annie. To watch live, just visit the Aquarium’s Facebook page at 10 a.m. The Aquarium will also post the SEA-SPAN sessions on its website and on YouTube so the shows can be watched on demand.
We’re looking forward to bringing some pawsitivity and ottterly amazing content your way during the ever-evolving COVID-19 situation. You’ll enjoy checking in on all of your favorite aquatic animals right from the comfort of your home.
