Florida Aquarium Holds Annual Day of Discovery

The Florida Aquarium, in partnership with the Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (C.A.R.D.) at the University of South Florida, is hosting its sixth annual Day of Discovery presented by Outback Steakhouse from 8-9:30 a.m., Saturday, April 7.

The Aquarium’s Day of Discovery is an opportunity for individuals with sensory differences and their families to experience the Aquarium in a way that is just for them. The Aquarium is opening the doors early for Day of Discovery participants only. Special effects, lights and music will be adapted for those with sensory differences.

There will be engaging aquatic-themed activities and surprise animal encounters throughout the morning that offer guests an up close opportunity with an animal that can provide a good interactive, tactile experience for those with sensory differences.

Plus, the 501st Legion and Rebel Forces and a surprise Tampa Bay Buccaneers player will join guests for photo opportunities and fun.

COST: The event costs $5 (children and adults) when purchased in advance online at flaquarium.org or $8 at the door. $6 parking is provided at The Florida Aquarium. The Florida Aquarium Members and children under two get in free.
