The Red Arrival and Departure lanes at Tampa International Airport will be closed overnight to traffic beginning Feb. 4, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., Monday through Friday. The closure will continue through the end of February, which is typically one of the slower travel months at TPA.
During this time, passengers and guests should use the Short Term Garage for pick up and drop off. No parking charges will be applied for pick up and drop off during the closure period. Airlines affected are Southwest, Spirit, Air Canada, Alaska, British Airways, Edelweiss, Lufthansa, Silver, Sun Country and WestJet.
All drivers should exercise caution during this time period and be mindful of potential changes.
The demolition is part of the second phase of work on the Master Plan, a three-part capital program that will increase the airport’s capacity to 34 million passengers each year. The old Red Side Rental Car Garage, which was replaced February 2018 with the new Rental Car Center, and old Airside D guideway must be removed to accommodate new express curbsides and a new guideway to a future 16-gate airside.
