Join us for Independence Day at The Florida Aquarium! Celebrate with fishes, flags and fireworks and get a “fish-eye” view of all the downtown Tampa excitement. The Aquarium will be open for its regular hours of 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. during Fourth of July and will keep the fun going after-hours to give guests an up-close look at the Mayor Jane Castor’s Boom by the Bay Celebration.
Whether you are looking for some family fun or a night out with friends, The Florida Aquarium has a Fish of July celebration event for you! The all-American themed celebration kicks off the fourth of July, with the Fish of July extended hours and VIP celebrations. We invite you to join us among more than 14,000 animals that call the Aquarium home, interactive exhibits and so much more!
During the day on July 4, guests can enjoy up-close encounters with stingrays, bamboo sharks, sea stars and lots of other encounters. Afterwards, cool off at our refreshing Splash Pad; enjoy a 4D Experience at the 4-D theater, and expansive indoor exhibits like Moon Bay — our brand-new moon jelly touch experience which also gives guests a chance to beat the summer heat.
At 5 p.m., the Aquarium will reopen to give guests another look at its animals and attractions, plus access to its prime location for the Mayor’s Boom by the Bay Celebration fireworks show.

VIP guests will enjoy premium rooftop access at with a “fish-eye” view of downtown Tampa’s Boom by the Bay, an exclusive All-American Hot Dog Bar with DIY gourmet toppings accompanied by your favorite Fish of July sides and desserts along with specialty drinks from our Ultimate Red, White and Booze Bar.
This experience includes extended evening hours (5:00pm-9:30pm) to the entire Aquarium. Dining will be from 7:00pm-8:30pm in the Mosaic Ballroom. Rooftop access starts at 8pm. Fireworks expected to start at 9:00pm.
