Ticketing Reminders from Straz Center

The 2019 season at The Straz is certain to be the biggest and most-attended in the performing arts center’s 31-year history. And while The Straz works hard to provide authentic and affordable tickets so that real fans can see our shows, availability will be at a premium this season – particularly to HamiltonDear Evan HansenAnastasia, A Bronx Tale and other Broadway blockbusters.

Despite our best efforts, tickets do often find their way into the hands of online scalpers who are illegally and fraudulently selling those seats to the unwitting public, often at a dramatically inflated price. Fraudulent sellers mimic the Straz Center name and website and often offer tickets they don’t possess. Patrons who purchase online from the secondary ticket market will always pay more, will rarely get the seats they want and may receive counterfeit tickets.

To protect themselves when purchasing tickets online, buyers should:

  • Go directly to the venue website – STRAZCENTER.ORG; they should type it in, rather than searching or speaking into voice recognition software.
  • Look for the official site when using a search engine. Only authentic venue and artist sites can label themselves as official.
  • Avoid unsecured online purchases.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Only tickets purchased directly from the Straz Center at STRAZCENTER.ORG, 813.229.7827, 800.955.1045 or in person at the Straz Center Ticket Sales Office are guaranteed to be legitimate tickets for engagements and performances at The Straz, including Hamilton, Dear Evan Hansen, Anastasia, A Bronx Tale and other Broadway blockbusters. Buyers who purchase from a ticket broker or third party should be aware the Straz Center is unable to reprint or replace lost or stolen tickets and is unable to contact patrons with information regarding time changes or other pertinent updates about the performance, and they run the risk of overpaying or purchasing fraudulent tickets.

And while the Straz Center will make every attempt to accommodate patrons who have been deceived and cheated by a fraudulent ticket broker or third party, there is no guarantee. Buy smart – buy direct.
