Celebrate the Home Team on American Victory Ship

Commemorate the Buccaneers’ first trip to the Super Bowl since 2003 with pirate fun for the entire family aboard the American Victory Ship on Saturday, February 6, 2021. Fans on the Fantail will feature Buccaneers flags flying from every mast, and the ship will welcome pirate characters to assist kids with activities including a treasure hunt and pirate goodie giveaways. Dress up with pirate garb and raise a real flag with assistance from the Crew. Follow a treasure hunt throughout the ship, and hear the ship’s whistle blare!

Fans on the Fantail will run during normal operating hours of 10 am – 5 pm and food trucks will be on the dock during lunch hours. For adults, an exclusive collection of football memorabilia will be on display inside the ship and available for purchase.

This event is predominantly outside in the open air and operating at reduced and limited capacity to allow for open-air social distancing throughout the ship. CDC best practices will be observed, and masks will be required when social distancing is not possible. Regular admission prices apply and tickets are available now online, on Facebook, and aboard the ship. Tickets are just $10 for adults; $5 for kids age 4-12 (age 3 and under free); $5 for veterans; and $8 for seniors.

About the American Victory Ship and Museum:

Built in 1945, the SS American Victory voyaged around the world delivering crucial cargo during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.  Today, the ship is one of only four operational World War II merchant steamships in the U.S.  The SS American Victory provides daily educational tours, serves as a training site for firefighters, law enforcement officers, active and reserve military and working dogs, hosts special events, and benefits from memberships, donations, and corporate sponsorships.

Since the SS American Victory arrived in Tampa in September 1999, dedicated volunteers have invested over 1,000,000 hours to restore, maintain and operate the vessel.  The American Victory Ship and Museum receives no city, state, federal or tax dollar financial support.  It relies heavily on private donations, grassroots efforts, and sincere dedication from its group of committed volunteers.  The American Victory Ship and Museum is a nonprofit 501c3 organization and recognized in the National Register of Historic Places. The ship is located in the Water Street District, directly behind The Florida Aquarium.
