United to Add Four Routes to Tampa

United Airlines has announced it will add four new routes between Tampa and key markets in the Midwest and Northeast, providing additional options for travelers in and out of the Sunshine State.

United is scheduled to launch the new service to Boston, Cleveland, and New York – LaGuardia on Nov. 6. Milwaukee is slotted to begin on Dec. 17.

The routes are now available for booking on United.com. The new service offers Midwest and Northeast travelers an easy connection to Florida sunshine while giving Tampa Bay area travelers additional options to fly to these top domestic destinations.

“The addition of these new flights represents United’s largest expansion of point-to-point, non-hub flying, and reflects our data-driven approach to add capacity where customers are telling us they want to go,” said Ankit Gupta, United’s Vice President of Domestic Network Planning. “We look forward to offering customers in the Midwest and Northeast more options to fly nonstop to Florida this winter.”

As one of TPA’s legacy carriers, United Airlines currently flies nonstop from Tampa to Newark, Washington-Dulles, Chicago-O’Hare, Houston, and Denver – all of which are United hubs. The additional service will introduce the option for Star Alliance members to travel to non-hub destinations on their preferred airline.

“We’re grateful for United Airlines’ partnership and long-standing support of TPA and our region,” said Chris Minner, TPA’s Executive Vice President of Marketing and Communications. “This is great news for travelers and we look forward to continue helping United grow its footprint in Florida.”
